Global positioning
system abbreviated as GPS. The GPS technology is based on space satellite
navigation. The GPS is made in such a way that it provides location and time in
all weather conditions. To use, one has to invest in it for only once.
Historically, the GPS was constructed by USA,
to improve their navigation systems. GPS is used in all fields. Its main
purpose is to know the location of the target in a specified area though in a
crowd. One can book a tourist cabs using an app. The app works on the principle
of GPS and shows the location of a nearby cab to the user. The user then books
the cab and moves along to his destination. From this example, it is clear that
GPS provides sophistication in its use.
Another form of GPS can be understood in
this way. On the unknown roads, during travel people often drive some extra
miles to get to their destination. Suppose, if I want to drive from Mumbai to
Goa and I have options of routes and I have chosen the route from konkan. The
GPS will show the number of turns, names of villages, restaurants, hospitals,
fuel pumps etc on this route. Also it
shows the time to reach Goa. Therefore, I have to be less dependent on human
help to reach Goa if it’s my first road trip.
Lastly, GPS have bought a huge difference in
lives of people.
